The Professional English Teacher Certificate (PETC) is a comprehensive teacher-development program designed to transform English educators into confident, communicative, and effective classroom facilitators. How the programme runs
Sixty hours of live teacher training over three months, ending in the Cambridge English Teaching Knowledge Test.
Taught live across 3 months, not issued as a video library you work through alone.
An hour a day is a timetable a working teacher can actually keep for twelve weeks.
New batches open through the week. Admissions confirm your commencement date once you enrol, so you start with a group at the same stage.
Taught by Nishad Ahmed Brets through demonstration, micro-teaching and continuous feedback — communicative language teaching, the direct, translation and TPR methods, principled eclecticism, warmers and energisers, PPP against ESA, and teaching grammar to learners who have to speak it.
The Cambridge qualification
The programme prepares you for, and enters you to, the TKT — Teaching Knowledge Test from Cambridge English (Cambridge University Press & Assessment) — the three core modules, examined one module at a time.
The language a teacher needs to describe language: grammar, lexis, phonology, the four skills, and how learners actually acquire them.
Planning a lesson and a sequence of lessons, selecting and adapting course material, and using the resources a real classroom has.
Classroom language, grouping and pacing, giving feedback, correcting error, and the teacher roles that make a class speak.
- Test format
- Each module is a single 80-minute multiple-choice test, sat on paper or on screen.
- How it is graded
- There is no pass or fail. Each module is reported in Bands 1 to 4, where Band 4 is extensive knowledge, and each module you sit earns its own Cambridge certificate.
- Entry fee
- Entry fees are set by the authorised Cambridge exam centre and are paid there, in addition to the course fee. Admissions confirm the current centre fee before you enter.
What you leave with
One certificate per module sat, issued by Cambridge English and recognised internationally, carrying your band for that module.
Issued online by Brets Pvt Ltd on completion, carrying your TKT band scores, and verifiable by any employer at bretsenglish.com/verify-certificate.
